Poker is a card game in which the outcome of a hand is determined by chance. Each player is required to put a certain number of chips into the pot (called the pot) prior to placing his or her bet. This is called folding, and it is important to note that a player who folds does not necessarily abandon the game.<\/p>\n
Poker has several different variations. The simplest variation involves dealing out a full hand of cards to each player. In this variation, players may be able to raise their bets, making the final showdown a straight hand of five cards. This game is usually played with at least seven players. This variant is sometimes called “split pot” poker.<\/p>\n
