Poker is a type of betting game played with a deck of cards. The object of the game is to create the best hand possible, while minimizing losses. However, the outcome of the game is significantly affected by chance. Unlike many other games, the outcome of a Poker game is not always determined by the best hand.<\/p>\n
Typically, Poker is played with a 52-card deck. In addition to the standard 52 cards, a player may also be dealt a joker. Jokers are sometimes used as wild cards, and can be used to help create a better hand.<\/p>\n
Before the first hand is dealt, each player will bet. The amount of each bet will be set by the table. After the bets are placed, the dealer will shuffle the cards.<\/p>\n
Cards are then laid out face down on the table. Players are given two to four cards. During this phase, players can choose to raise, fold or check. Alternatively, they can use one card from their hand.<\/p>\n
When the betting round ends, the pot is awarded to the player with the best hand. If two hands have the same value, the winner is determined by the ranking of the next card.<\/p>\n
The best five-card hand is called the “nuts” and cannot be defeated. Some other hands include the Ace high flush, which is stone cold nuts in most games.<\/p>\n
