When writing about poker, be sure to include lots of details on the players’ reactions. This will add a lot of drama and interest to your story. For example, a player who frequently calls and then suddenly makes a big raise may be holding an incredible hand. Pay attention to pacing and use a variety of words to create tension. Avoid cliches, such as someone pulling out 4 aces or a royal flush. These hands are so rare in a normal game that they become boring and lose credibility.
